Total 22 nominations were filed by candidates from Jabalpur Parliamentary Constituency till last day of filing nominations for the General Elections-2024, on Wednesday. Similarly, BJP candidate Ashish Dubey, accompanied by CM Mohan Yadav, State President V D Sharma and PWD Minister Rakesh Singh, filed his nomination papers on Wednesday. A mammoth gathering of workers of different parties and supporters of candidates reached at District Election Office for filing their nominations but only five persons including a candidate were allowed to enter the nomination filing centre. Police had already made strict security arrangements to avoid any kind of untoward incident and peaceful completion of nominations filing process.
 
District Election Officer and Collector Deepak Saxena received the nomination forms from candidates while Superintendent of Police Aditya Pratap Singh along with senior administrative and police officers conducted inspection of preparations to avert any inconvenience to candidates. Preparations were made pointing out the heavy crowd of political parties’ workers and supporters of candidates on the last day of filing nominations. DEO and Collector Deepak Saxena informed that scrutiny of nominations will be carried out on March 28 from 11 am and last date of withdrawing nominations will be till 3 pm March 30.
 
Final list of candidates will be declared on April 1 and a meeting of candidates with election observers will be held on the same day at 4 pm. Polling for General Election – 2024 will be held, on April 19. Counting of votes will be held and results of General Elections – 2024 will be declared on June 4. DEO Saxena informed that total 33 nomination forms were received from 22 candidates due to multiple forms submitted by some of the candidates. Candidates of three national parties, ten registered parties and nine independent candidates have filed their nominations.
