State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anupam Rajan has appealed to all the voters in the State to participate in the festival of democracy by voting in various phases of Parliamentary Elections-2024 ahead of the first phase of election. The Chief Electoral Officer has appealed all the voters to reach the polling station on Friday and take active part in strengthening the Indian democracy by voting without any fear. He said that voters are the carriers of rich democratic traditions. Democracy refines and flourishes only through the active participation of voters. Voting has provided another opportunity to enrich the democratic tradition and fulfill our constitutional duty. Rajan emphasised that free, fair and transparent election process is an important step in democracy.
 
He has appealed to every voter of the state to vote freely and fearlessly. He mentioned that tight security arrangements have been made during the voting. Strict action will be taken against those spreading any kind of rumours. CEO Rajan stressed upon the fact that to make the entire election process simple, accessible and inclusive, senior voters above 85 and voters with more than 40 per cent disability have been given the facility to vote from home. Through Saksham App the differently abled voters can request for wheel chair or other necessary assistive devices. To ensure that the elderly do not have to stand in queues, they are being given the facility to vote first. Shade, cold drinking water, medicines etc. in all the polling stations.
