Girl killed, several injured in head-on collision of cars

A 21-year-old college girl was killed while six others escaped with injuries in massive head-on collision of two speeding cars at a turn in Ratibad area on Thursday afternoon. All the injured were rushed to a private hospital where their condition is reported to be out of danger. One of the cars was damaged severely which suggest that the cars were at a very high speed while other car turned turtle near pond. In the two cars, 5 and 3 passengers were travelling respectively.
 
They are students of Jagran Lakecity University and Excellence College. The details are yet to be ascertained. At the moment one casualty has been confirmed while the remaining passengers have been admitted to Bansal Hospital. According to SHO of Ratibad J P Tripathi, the deceased girl has been identified as Priya Shrivastava, 20, wife of Abhay, a resident of Trilanga area, who was student of Excellence College.
 
The incident took place around 2 pm when she along with her friend Vishal and another youth were heading towards Kaliyasot Tiraha when their car was hit by another four-wheeler coming from opposite direction. The impact of collision was so strong that the car in which girl was sitting with friend fell down in the culvert filled with water and five other persons who were present in another car also got injured. After the road mishap, all the injured were rushed to Bansal Hospital where Priya was declared brought dead by the doctors. The injured have been identified as Akshita Bhadoriya, Rahul Verma, Ruchika Sahane, Indu Kush and Kirti Khare. The body was sent for the post-mortem after the preliminary investigation. The police have registered a case under Section 304A of the IPC and started investigation.
