Woman gangraped near railway station, 4 arrested

Another incident of gangrape, similar to that of with UPSC aspirant near Habibganj Railway Station two years ago, was reported from State capital. This time near Bhopal Railway Station yard, where a 20-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by four persons late on Wednesday night and like earlier incident in this case also victim woman has to move from one police station to another for getting FIR registered. According to incharge of GRP (Bhopal) Dushyant Joshi, the victim woman is married and mother of one kid. The incident took place when she along with her sister-in-law (bhabhi) and child had gone to Hanumanganj area to watch tableau possession and ‘chal samaroh’ in an autorickshaw.
 
However, as it was too crowded and after being stuck in traffic jam, the auto driver dropped them near Chhola underbridge and they were heading towards the venue of programme walking pedestrian. In the midway the victim woman stopped to answer nature’s call and went towards yard of Bhopal Railway Station where four accused reported to be in an inebriated state were present. As soon as they saw the woman, they grabbed her and after closing her mouth dragged victim inside railway yard where three got hold of the woman and one took turn on her.
 
After the incident, they escaped from the spot and victim woman somehow was reunited with her family members. A day after when she reached Hanumanganj Police Station to get FIR lodged, here she was told that the incident spot doesn’t fall in their jurisdiction and sent her to approach Government Railway Police. It was only after intervention of senior cops that an FIR was lodged by GRP Bhopal and the accused were arrested who were identified as Dharmendra, Rakesh Walmiki, Rajesh Khare and Vikram, all residents of Bazaria locality.
