Government targets to build 3,000 Goushalas in State: CM

Chief Minister Kamal Nath has directed to accelerate the construction of 1,000 Goushalas in the State and to complete them within the time limit at any cost. He said that the accountability of the concerned departments should be fixed and it should also be reviewed from time to time. The Chief Minister mentioned that there is a target to build 3,000 Goushalas in the State during the next year. In this regard, complete planning, selection of construction sites and all the procedures should be completed by December 2019. Kamal Nath was reviewing the ‘Project Goushala’ at Mantralaya on Friday. The campaign being conducted by the Government to protect abandoned cows and stray cows was named as ‘Mukhya Mantri Gou Seva Yojana’ in the meeting.
The Chief Minister stated that the problems being faced by the common man due to the abandoned cows and stray animals should be resolved on priority. He said that problems in the construction of Goushalas should be brought to his notice, so that they could be addressed immediately. No lack of funds should hamper the construction. Kamal Nath stressed the need for better co-ordination between Rural Development Department, entrusted with a task for building and operating Goushalas and Animal Husbandry Department so that all the work could be done with fast pace and without any hindrance. The Chief Minister sought the information about the construction of Goushalas and initiative taken by the private sector for cow protection. Kamal Nath gave his consent for using the fund of fodder given to the Animal Husbandry Department by the Mandi Board, in other activities of cow protection.
