Probe to be ordered in damaged roads:Verma

PWD Minister Sajjan Singh Verma has said that probe will be initiated into those roads which were constructed in short span during previous Government and got damaged during recent rains. Along with this, Centre has not given any financial help to State so far to repair the roads. Now, State Government will create its own resources to garner fund to repair the damaged roads.
Addressing the press conference at Congress headquarters in State capital, PWD Minister Sajjan Singh Verma told that national highways passing through Madhya Pradesh are in bad shape. “I and even CM Kamal Nath approached Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways
Nitin Gadkari and attracted his attention on pathetic national highways but to no avail.” He alleged that there seems to problem and that’s the reason behind pathetic condition of national highways. Meanwhile, he added that “We have demanded Rs 1,188 crore from Centre for repairing of roads but till date not even a single penny has been received. Hence, now State Government will repair its roads by cutting the budget of different departments and create new resources to garner fund for PWD.” He told that State Government has even started to work on repairmen of roads and road repair works in Mandsaur and Neemuch is underway. He said target has been set to do patch work by November 30. Moreover, more than fifty ROBs have been identified for construction. To reduce traffic load in Indore, an elevated bridge of 6.5 km in length has been sanctioned. Two bridges are going to be constructed in Jabalpur.
