Cultural extravaganza leaves long-lasting memories

Spreading the message of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’, the 10th National Cultural Festival concluded on Tuesday. The event left behind unforgettable memories for the residents and introduced them with diversified arts and culture of the country. Grand cultural programme was not less that Bharat Darshan for the spectators under a single roof. Two-day National Cultural Festival was organised under the auspices of Cultural Ministry, Government of India, at Shaheed Smarak, Gole Bazar premises. During the cultural extravaganza artists from different corners of the country representing seven zones exhibited the colours of their respective culture and arts.
 
Folk songs, music and dance of South, North, East, West and Central India mesmerised the spectators with rich cultural heritage of the country. Besides, cultural handicraft, fine art, artefacts, commodities and varieties of traditional food items proved a unique experience for the residents. Second day of the festival was started with ‘Echoes of India’ while world’s first Sanskrit Band ‘Dhruva’ realised the beginning of a new era with the blend of ancient Sanskrit language and modern music.
 
Thereafter, Priti Patel and troupe performed several art forms of Manipur. Main attraction of the evening was qawwali programme of Sabri Brothers (Jaipur). Enthusiastic qawwali performance of Sabri Brothers provided complete entertainment to the audience. Amidst the experience of varieties of cultural programmes, residents enjoyed multi cuisine dishes from different cultures and traditions in north, south, east and western states.
 
Eminent those who were specially present during the programme include Pushplata Singh Patel, wife of Prahlad Patel, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism, MLA, Narsinghpur, Jalam Singh Patel, Cultural Ministry, Joint Secretary, Amita Prasad Sarabhai, Central Advisory Board, Member, Ravindra Bajpai, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, Commissioner, Ashish Kumar, Dr Jitendra Jamdar, Arjun Award recipient, Madhu Yadav and several other senior administrative officers and eminent residents were present. Second phase of 10th National Cultural Festival would be organised in Sagar at PTC Ground, Pili Kothi Road, Civil Line, on October 16 and 17 and third phase would be organised in Rewa at Thakur Ranmat Singh College ground, Dhyanchand Stadium, Civil Line, on October 20 and 21.
