Kisan Mela witnessing huge turnout of farmers

ongoing three-day Kisan Mela being organised under Rashtriya Krishi Udai-2019 at Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNAU) stadium witnessed huge turnout of farmers from different parts of the region. In the Kisan Mela, farmers from different centres of the division are attending to gather information about latest agriculture advances, equipment and other agriculture accessories.
 
A Kisan Sangoshthi is also being organised. Experts from different streams of farming shared their expertise with farmers in a simple language that could be understood and farmers could learn about latest techniques. In the symposium, issues mainly related to contemporary crop ailments, treatments, coming seasonal impact on crops in terms of insect and pest infestation, different diseases in form of virus or bacteria, irrigation and crop care by adopting different traditional methods.
 
Organic farming and production of organic manure, use of green products that are bio-fertilisers, pesticides, plant tonics and much more were discussed by experts keeping the impact of climate change on farming. On Tuesday, VC Bisen visited stalls put-up by various agricultural implement companies, departments, nursery and self help groups, Krishi Vigyan Kendra. At the stalls farmers visiting to gather farming related information. While in agriculture machinery related to exhibition heavy implements were kept on display by various companies. On Wednesday, three-day Rashtriya Kisan Mela and Horticulture Exhibition will conclude at 12 pm. Vice-Chancellor, Professor P K Bisen presided over the programme. MLA Sanjay Yadav, Vinay Saxena, Ajay Vishnoi, Sushil Tiwari, Ashok Rohani, Nandani Maravi and Veterinary University, VC Professor P D Juyal will be special guests.
