After supporting Congress party during floor test in Assembly a few months back and leaving BJP stunned, MLA Narayan Tripathi has returned to BJP on Tuesday. Trying to do damage control, Congress said that it never claimed that Narayan Tripathi has taken its membership. On Tuesday, MLA Narayan Tripathi reached BJP office along with ex-minister Dr Narottam Mishra. After reaching there, Narayan Tripathi met BJP State President Rakesh Singh. While interacting with media, Narayan Tripathi said that it was under wrong illusion he and another MLA Sharad Kol voted in support of Congress government during voting on an important bill related to amendment to the Criminal Procedure Code in Assembly.

At that time, neither he and nor Sharad Kol knew that BJP had not taken part in voting. Refuting the allegations of temptation, Narayan Tripathi told that neither he left BJP nor he had gone into Congress. “I was in touch with CM over development of his constituency Maihar,” he asserted. When asked that what happened about the promise given to him that Maihar would become district, he told that nothing such happened. He hurled volley of allegations on Congress by stating that ruling party is direction less, hopeless and leaderless party. He said that he had not left BJP and going to remain in BJP forever. On this occasion, MLA Vishwas Sarang and other BJP leaders were also present.

Notably, when Narayan Tripathi and Sharad Kol voted in favour of Congress government, they have also met Congress leaders. Tripathi and Kol said that they supported Congress government as they wanted development in their constituencies. Narayan Tripathi went a step ahead and criticised policies of previous government headed by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. They supported Congress government at a time when BJP was making tall claims that Government is short of majority and may fell down anytime. Their support to bill proved the majority of Congress government on floor of house even as BJP decided to boycott the voting on bill. Buoyed by the return of Narayan Tripathi into party fold, BJP State President Rakesh Singh told that return of Tripathi proves that no BJP MLA has left party as was claimed by Congress. He accused Congress of doing politics of lies and seeing day dreams.
