18 litres of illegal liquor stock seized during raid at 2 houses

Continuing the special campaign, District Excise Department raided two houses and seized 18 litres of illegal stock of country liquor, 500 kg raw material and 60 quarters of country liquor in Andheri Bagh and Katra Mohalla, on Wednesday. District Excise Department has registered nine separate cases and arrested seven women including Rajkumari Bai, Sheela Bai, Sunita Bai, Munni Bai and Meera Bai in Andheri Bagh and Anusuiya Bai and Kushumlata Bai in Katra Mohalla.
 
Excise Control Room In-charge G L Maravi informed that under the direction of Collector Bharat Yadav, Excise Department started a special campaign against illegal trade and transportation of liquor under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner, Excise, S N Dubey. During the campaign, Excise Department received information about illegal trade of liquor from two homes situated in Andheri Bagh and Katra Mohalla.
 
Acting promptly on the information, separate teams of Excise Department conducted surprise inspection at identified houses and seized illegal stock of country liquor. In the raids, Excise teams seized 12 litres of country liquor and 500 kilograms raw material in Andheri Bagh and arrested seven women engaged in illegal trade of liquor while 6 litres of country liquor and 60 quarters of country liquor were seized from two women in Katra Mohalla.
 
Excise Department registered nine cases against the accused under Sections 34(1)A of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act – 1915. The accused was apprehended with active working of team comprising Assistant District Excise Officer P K Jain, Ramji Pandey, G D Lahauria, Bharti Gond, Excise SI, Girija Dhurve, Shweta Singh, Ravishankar Yadav, Sudhir Mishra, Ramayan Prasad Dwivedi, Ravishankar Maravi and others.
