Over 5.38 lakh new ration cards made for APL families

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department Amarjeet Bhagat on Wednesday said that the Department has made 5.38 lakh new ration cards for above poverty line (APL) families out of the 8.18 applications received under Universal Public Distribution System (PDS).
 
Talking to media persons at New Circuit House here, Amarjeet Bhagat said that around 8.25 lakh APL families would get benefitted under the Universal PDS. 2.16 crore people are getting benefit under the food security scheme in State. There are 58 lakh ration card holders in State. The State Government has allocated Rs 4,000 crore for Mukhyamantri Sahayata Yoajana in 2019-20 while the Rs 2,770 crore was allocated
