City schools participate in 11th Montfort Cup Music Carnival

City schools showcased their musical talent in 11th Montfort Cup Inter-school Music Carnival for primary (III-V) held at St Montfort School, Bhopal on Thursday. Total 12 schools, including the host school, participated in this competition. The motto of the competition was to give platform to the budding talents so that they can enhance their latent talents. The young talents exhibited their melodious voices which enthralled the audience.
 
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our Judges Dr Deepti Bhatnagar, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Music Sri Satya Sai College for Women Bhopal; Sudeep Chandra Mukerjee, musician and recording engineer; the host Principal Brother Monachan K K, senior co-ordinator Jyoti Nair and primary co-ordinator Sister Angel. The rules for the competition were intimated to the participants. Each school was represented by a team of 12 members and three instrumentalists. Each team performed for ten minutes and the theme was Pyara Bachpan. All the songs were in Hindi. The students were judged on the basis of their singing talents and the best compere.
 
The host school participated but did not compete. The judges applauded each team for their performance and encouraged and motivated them to participate and enhance their talent. The Judges were presented mementoes by the host principal. The host Principal also addressed the audience and applauded the children for their efforts.
 
A vote of thanks was proposed by Primary Head Girl and Head Boy. Holy Family Convent School stood as winner in Winner Group Song, while in Solo Song, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar won the competition and St Joseph Co-ed School, Arera Colony was runner-up, DPS Neelbadh was second runner-up. Best Compere was Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar. Overall Champion was St Joseph Co-ed School, Arera Colony. The programme winded up with the national anthem.
