13th Vigyan Manthan Yatra to conclude on Oct 20

Under Madhya Pradesh Excellence Mission programme, Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology Bhopal will conclude its 13th Vigyan Manthan Yatra on October 20, Sunday at 3 pm at Minto Hall. The ceremony will be graced by the chief guest of the occasion Science and Technology Minister Umashankar Gupta.
 
 
The programme will be presided over by Council General Director Dr RK Arya. “Vigyan Manthan Yatra” witnessed participation of 572 students from class VIII to XII across state. In the concluding ceremony of the Vigyan Manthan Yatra, a written examination will be held in which among these students 100 brilliant students will be selected for scholarship. Vigyan Manthan Yatra has completed its 13 years and around 7500 students of the schools have participated so far.
 
Under this mission, Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology is continuing the 13th Vigyan Manthan Yatra for the selected brilliant students these days.
 
Under this, students of classes VIII to XII are on educational visit. They are visiting national science labs, science institutes, etc. “Vigyan Manthan Yatra” is being carried out in five selected cities including Lucknow, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Hyderabad.
 
Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology is first science council, which is successfully organizing “Vigyan Manthan Yatra” since 2008. The main aim of this programme is to create interest in science among students and develop a scientific perspective in them.
 
The students of class VIII visited Regional Science City located in Lucknow, Indira Gandhi Planetarium, Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, National Science Centre, Indian Institute of Technology, Nehru Planetarium and Indian Agriculture Research Institute. The students of class X visited Space Application Centre at Ahmedabad, Vikram Sarabhai Community Science Centre and Institute for Plasma Research and Gujarat Science City. While Class XI students visited Rock Garden of Chandigarh, Institute of Microbial Technology, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Punjab University, Chandigarh, Japanese Garden, Chandigarh and Punjab State Council of Science and Technology.
 
Class XII students visited National Remote Sensing Centre, NGRI and National Crop Research for Semi-Arid, National Institute of Nutrition and BM Birla Science Centre.
