INCOME Tax Department sleuths have initiated survey at office, factories and sites of two firms in the city. Action initiated by the department is based on a tip-off given by a research division. Income Tax officials started search at office of Chandok Machineries showroom situated at Omti and factory in Adhartaal Industrial area.

Similar action has been initiated by Income Tax Department officials at the office of M/s Dheeraj Engineering and Contractor in Katanga. According to sources in the department a survey was initiated on Friday morning by the team of Income Tax Department, Jabalpur. The team started survey at the showroom of M/s Chandok Machineries situated in Omti and also at the factory in Adhartaal.

 

The team of Income Tax Department started scrutiny of accounts as well as verifying business transactions.

The team also took records of the company in its possession and started checking keeping intelligence input of heavy tax evasion. Similarly, at M/s Dheeraj Constructions and Contractor a separate team has started income tax survey.

Sources in the department says that the survey started on Friday morning and only after checking documents, accounts, business transactions as well verifying declarations, assessments in the previous returns further decision can be taken. It is just a survey or could be said a regular survey on both the parties.

 

The Income Tax Department has been issuing advisory for tax payers to ensure filing timely returns and to pay taxes honestly. The department in routine conducts research on trend of taxpayers through its intelligence department and on finding chances of tax evasion such routine survey is carried out.
