Senior Bharatiya Janata Party and Raipur (South) Legislator Brijmohan Agrawal along with former Minister Prem Prakash Pandey carried out intensive campaigning at Chitrakot Assembly constituency during the by-poll on behalf of BJP candidate Lachuram Kashyap. Attacking on the ruling Congress, Brijmohan Agrawal said that the Congress is cheating the people of Chhattisgarh. Prem Prakash Pandey in his statement said the Congress has put a financial burden of Rs 58,000 on every citizen of Chhattisgarh as on date.

Agrawal while addressing the people at Lohandiguda market in Chitrakot Assembly constituency said that the Congress has backed out from all promises on the basis of which it had come to power and by doing so it is cheating people. Neither it has paid Rs 2,500 unemployment allowance to the unemployed youths nor it has been able to put an effecting ban on liquor. At the same every development work in Bastar region has been put on hold while no fresh development works have been initiated since last nine months.

He called upon the people of Chitrakot to vote for BJP candidate Lachuram Kashyap so as to ensure that the injustice meted to Bastar region could echo in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. Former Revenue Minister Prem Prakash Pandey said that if Congress candidate Rajman Benjam wins, he will be compelled to agree with the State Government’s policy and there will be no one from Bastar region to highlight the plight of local people in the Assembly.

This will also hamper development in the region. But if Lachuram Kashyap wins, he’ll be able to highlight the plight of Bastar people. He said the development which is seen here in this constituency was carried out be erstwhile BJP government on the behest of Kashyap. It is due to his efforts only that people across the country and world came to know about the beauty of Chitrakot Waterfalls.
