MP Pragya Thakur dedicates new multipurpose building at Bhopal Stn

MEMBER of Parliament (MP) from Bhopal constituency Sadhvi Pragya Thakur inaugurated a new multipurpose building with unreserved ticket facility centre at Bhopal Railway Station on Sunday. Railways has constructed a new multipurpose building at platform number six that has several facilities for passengers. In this building, there are three booking counters, automatic ticket vending machine, entry-exit auto lane, ramp for physically challenged, transparent windows, stainless steel bench in waiting room, electronic display of trains etc.
 
There is also drive in facility to contact with other platforms along with the luggage. Other invited guests present were Gas Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Arif Akeel, MLA Huzur Rameshar Sharma, Vishwas Sarang, Krishna Gaur and Vishnu Khatri. Under its extensive development plan, Bhopal Railway Station is being redeveloped with new building and several other facilities. Ground floor of the building was already started for passengers two days back.
 
Apart from ticket counter, passengers are happy to have phone charging facility. The building is decorated in an attractive way with messages of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. A big size ‘Charkha’ is also placed in remembrance of Gandhiji. Walls are decorated with attractive paintings of Sanchi Stupa. The building will be connected soon with new foot-over bridge so that passengers can move easily. VIP lounge is being developed at ground floor.
 
This multipurpose building was earlier proposed to be inaugurated in 2018 but construction work got delayed. Sources said that the Railway authorities earlier planned to inaugurate the building on October 18 by MP Pragya Thakur but it got deferred due to certain reasons. Officials also started decoration of the building for inauguration purpose but it was postponed at the eleventh hour.
