Voting held peacefully amid tight security 
 
The voting for Jhabua Assembly by-poll was held amid tight security arrangement on Monday. Overall voting passed off peacefully. By evening, voting percentage was reported to be 62 per cent. The voting percentage is slightly likely to go upwards. BJP candidate Bhanu Bhuria and Congress candidate Kantilal Bhuria reached their respective polling booths to cast their vote. Long queues were witnessed at polling booths during voting. Voters were excited to cast their precious vote. Voting started with lukewarm response during morning hours and started to gain momentum as the day progressed.
 
After noon hours, voting picked up pace. The stakes of BJP and Congress are high in Jhabua Assembly by-election. Congress has fielded former union minister Kantilal Bhuria against BJP candidate Bhanu Bhuria.Both parties have done hectic canvassing to win public faith. Congress tried to win the hearts of people by reckoning various public works done in last ten months while BJP tried to point out several lacunae in Congress government. The counting of votes will be done on October 24. The outcome of Jhabua assembly by-election will decide the future course of Madhya Pradesh politics.
 
The victory for Congress will provide necessary strength to fight against BJP and if BJP wins then it will be a huge jolt to Congress. As the voting is over, hence, BJP and Congress are trying to assess the voting pattern and are deliberating with their party workers and leaders to anticipate the possible outcome of by election. BJP is hopeful of retaining Jhabua Assembly seat while Congress is confident of snatching Jhabua seat from BJP to prove that Kamal Nath government is popular among masses. During campaigning, Congress pressed CM Kamal Nath to lure the voters. BJP used popular leaders like ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP State President Rakesh Singh and Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to win the faith of voters. Now fate of BJP and Congress candidates are sealed in EVMs and October 24 will decide that which party is going to come up with flying colours.
