Governor pays tribute to martyrs

To mark ‘Police Commemoration Day’, Governor Anusuiya Uikey accompanied by Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu on Monday paid tribute to brave martyrs in 4th Battalion of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) Mana. Governor said that on this day, we commemorate the sacrifices and heroic saga of security personnel who attained martyrdom in the line of duty. The legend of their bravery will continue to inspire the coming generations. I salute the parents of these brave sons.” Uikey further said that police personnel dedicatedly perform their duties of maintain law and order within the society.
 
When everyone joyously celebrates festivals, these personnel in task of ensuring peaceful celebration remain away from their families. It’s a matter for pride that Chhattisgarh Police courageously taken up every challenges and performed their responsibilities despite of being in adverse condition. Security personnel deployed in insurgency-hit districts are courageously undertaking the task of combating Naxalism. People residing in remote areas of Maoists-hit districts have gained the consciousness and now, they also desire development in their respective areas, said Governor, adding that government through its welfare schemes and programme making extensive efforts to link these areas with mainstream of the country.
 
Chhattisgarh Government is determined to maintain law and order across the state, said Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu. “The State Government is dedicated to resolve the problem of Naxalism. Numerous concrete steps taken up by the government led to significant decline in Naxal incidents,” stated Home Minister Sahu. MLA Satyanarayan Sharma, MLA Anita Sharma, Director General of Police (DGP) D M Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) C K Khetan, DG (Jail and Home Guard) Vinay Kumar Singh and others were present on the occasion.
