Honorarium of folk artists to be increased: Minister Patel

“Central Culture Ministry will conduct search for folk artists in remote areas throughout the country to provide them national platform through National Culture Festival. Folk artists are the true cultural heritage of the country to depict true colours of India. In order to encourage these artists, their honorarium will be increased from Rs 800 to Rs 2,000. Besides this, National Cultural Festival would be organised in small cities for better promotion of art and culture”, said Prahlad Singh Patel, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism.
 
He was addressing the mammoth gathering of spectators during concluding of the 10th National Cultural Festival – 2019 at at Thakur Ranmat Singh Government College Ground, Dhyanchand Stadium, Civil Line, on Monday evening. Speaking on the occasion Member of Parliament, Satna, Ganesh Singh expressed gratitude towards Union Minister of State, Prahlad Singh Patel for organising the mega event in Rewa. He extended for organising the National Cultural Festival in Chitrakoot and Maihar. Special guests on the occasion were Member of Parliament, Rewa, Janardan Singh, MLA, Rajendra Shukla and others.
 
The programme was started with Mushayara which was followed by attractive dance performance of international repute Kathak dancer Arushi Nishank. Folk artists from 22 states recited a group song and exhibited true for of unity in diversity. Flue play of Renu Majumdar filled melody in the atmosphere while Nratyavishkar of Tanushree Shankar provided a unique experience to spectators. Main attraction of the programme was melodious performance of playback singer Anuradha Paudwal. Besides this, food and handicraft exhibition was also centre of attraction for the residents.
 
Unique artefacts of different regions attracted the residents towards attractive decoration materials, designer sarees, Kurta, Rajasthani Juti, hand made artificial jewellery etc attracted the residents. Similarly, delicious regional foot items of Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Banaras, Gujarat and other states provided new tastes to the residents.
