Four members of a family, including a woman, were badly thrashed by boozers for opposing them from using obscene language at village Ghorbhatti in limits of Kharora police station. On October 29, a group of four boozers identified as Biselal, Dilip, Shankar and Jogadi, all residents of village Ghorbhatti, badly thrashed Vishwaprakash Verma and his family members including a woman with stick and rod, said police sources, elaborating that victim and his family members suffered multiple injuries in the attack. Shedding more information about the incident, police sources said that on October 29, the accused under inebriated condition were making abusive comments and obscene acts outside the house of victim.

Disappointed by the obscene act of boozers, Bhagyalata Verma came out of the house and raised objection to the act. Aggrieved over resistance, the boozers equipped with stick and rod forcefully entered into the victim’s house and attacked them leaving several injured, who were rushed to nearby hospital.

Following the complaint of victim family members, police registered an offence against the accused under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 506(B) (criminal intimidation), 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC, said police sources, adding that search for the accused has been launched.
