State all set for Rajyotsav-2019

Rajyotsav-2019, the 20th anniversary of State Foundation Day will be celebrated with grandeur and dignified way marked with Chhattisgarhi culture and traditions from November 1 to November 3 at Science College grounds here in the Capital. With suspense over the visit of Sonia Gandhi for the inauguration on November 1, it’s yet not clear as to who will inaugurate the Rajyotsav. Sonia Gandhi’s visit if sources are to be believed has been cancelled on health grounds however the state government is continuing with the preparations so far. On the inaugural day classical dance, music and singing along with presentations on ‘geet-gazal’ and ‘sugam sangeet’.
 
The presentations will include Pandwani, traditional dance Panthi form, Gedi, Gaura-Gauri, Raut Nacha, Karma, Saila, Gaur, Kaksad, Dhurwa, Suwa dance, Sarhul dance, Saila dance, etc. During these three days of celebration, Lok Manch programmes will also be held. On the second day on November 2, Governor Anusuiya Uikey will participate in Rajyotsav programmes as Chief Guest while on November 3, the Chief Guest of valedictory function will be Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. During the Rajyotsav programme, State-level Awards on different segments instituted by the state government will be presented. This time the state government has decided to invite artists from Chhattisgarh only for performing in the Rajyotsav programmes and during these three days, folk dance and folk singing presentation from different parts of Chhattisgarh will be showcased.
 
Accordingly, the Rajyotsav programme will commence with Mohari Vadan followed by Vandana-geet on Chhattisgarh Mahatari -Arpa-Pairi Ke Dhar. Thereafter folk dancers from various parts of the state will give their respective presentations including Kathak from Raigarh Gharana and Pandwani. On the second day, the programme will commence with Khanjheri Bhajan followed by presentations on Sarhul, Saila, Raut and Kaksar dance forms. This will be followed by presentations on geet-gazals and instrumental presentations of piano and accordion. Also presentations on Odisi and Bharatnatyam along with traditional Bharthari and Surgujiya geet will be carried out on the same day.
 
On the third day, the programme will commence with Chhattisgarh Sugam Gayan. This will be followed by presentation on Karma, Lohati Baja, Gedi and Panthi dance forms. Thereafter, puppet-show and Kabir Sufi gayan and instrumental presentations on saxophone, guitar and Taalkutchari will be held followed by Dholamaru folk songs presentations. All the three days’ programme will culminate with Lokmanch. 
 
Govt declares holiday on State Establishment Day

Oct 30 State government has announced holiday on account of State Establishment Day on November 1. The holiday has been announced for all government offices and institutions all over the state. According to the order issued by General Administration Department on Wednesday, it has stated that the Holiday on account of State Establishment Day has been announced on November 1, 2019, which will be applicable to all government offices and institutions across the state in all 27 districts. Earlier the said holiday was applicable for Raipur capital only but the state government has amended the order and made it applicable for whole state.
