PSI-2019 to promote thrust sectors: CA Shah

NAGPUR Branch of WIRC of ICAI recently organised a half day seminar on ‘Package Scheme of Incentives 2019’ (PSI) which was notified by the Government of Maharashtra on September 16, 2019. CA Julfesh Shah was the key note speaker at the seminar.
 
 
He said that with a view to steer industrial development towards high-tech emerging sectors and generation of employment the State Government has identified various thrust sectors. Thrust sectors include electric vehicles (manufacturing, infrastructure and servicing), aerospace and Defense manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, 3D Printing, Internet of Things, robotics, nanotechnology, textile machinery manufacturing, bio technology, medical, diagnostic devices, agro and food processing, secondary and tertiary food processing units, logistics and warehousing, green energy, bio fuel production, sports and gym equipment manufacturing, nuclear power plant equipment manufacturing and other industries as notified in the notification. CA Shah said, “This is a very positive step towards promotion of thrust sectors,”. He covered in detail the Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) segment, various incentives and provisions under the new scheme.
 
 
CA Bhagwat Thakre elaborated on mega and ultra mega projects based on capital investment and employment. He provided a comparative analysis of PSI 2013 and PSI 2019 schemes. He narrated how an entrepreneur can take benefit of the new scheme. He also covered the objectives and incentives available for Large Scale Investments (LSI). Both the speakers answered all the vital queries of the participants in detail. They have cleared all the doubts of the participants and urged them to propagate the scheme for the maximum benefit of their clients. They also encouraged the participants to propagate the scheme for the overall industrial development of Vidarbha region.
 
 
CA Suren Duragkar, Chairman, Nagpur Branch of WIRC of ICAI spoke about need of the seminar and role of Nagpur Branch towards member updation. He said that when it comes to Industrial Policy and State Government incentive schemes, the two senior faculties CA Shah and CA Thakre were requested to guide the members due to their vast experience and interaction with Government agencies.
