HIGHLIGHTING the need to promote affordable housing projects in the city, Krishnakumar Toari, Chairman of Urich Grace Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, on Saturday said that the Government should encourage such projects outside the city limited. Taori, who earned the Master’ degree in Technology from the erstwhile VRCE and having over 35 years of experience in the field, is also recognised as 26th CEO in MEENA Region ranking twice by Forbes Magazine.

His firm has completed construction of 3 lakh square feet area in a span of just 27 months and construction of another 2 lakh square feet area is under progress. He said, “The city is blessed with many important projects that will change its fate. Metro Rail is one such project because of which the city is growing at a rapid speed.”
He said that all the developed cities of the world have good mobility system. “People in New York travel 100 kms in one hour, while that of Mumbai travelers could cover a distance of 60 kms in just one hour,” Taori said.

According to him the demand for housing from middle income group is high in the city. “They can buy average households within the city limits. But to get a lifestyle, they should think of the projects located outside the city limits as the cost of land is comparatively low,” Taori felt. He further added that the Government should encourage projects located outside the city limits. The Government should offer concessions on the cost of raw material, royalty and other charges to the builders building households outside the city.

He also expressed concern over the prevailing GST rate on cement, paints and other products required for constructing buildings. Bringing down the prices of construction material will support affordable housing, he added. “To make the Government’s dream of houses for all, it should give relaxation in housing loan for farmers
and buyers from unorganised sector,” he said.
