Ayodhya verdict: Flag march by police to protect peace and harmony

WITH verdict delivered in the sensitive case of Ramjanmbhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute on Saturday morning, police took out flag-march to ensure peace and harmony across the twin cities of Bhilai and Durg. The police would continue to maintain vigil in days to come for ensuring peace and law and order. The flag-march which commenced from Police Control Room, Sector-6, Bhilai, traversed through Civic Center, Risali, Maroda, Sector-4, Sector-1, Power House, Chhaoni, Housing Board, Supela and Akash Ganga in Bhilai. The flag-march was also taken out through various sensitive areas of Durg city on Saturday. The police took out the symbolic flag-march as the token of appeal to the populace for not indulging in any act that could possibly disrupt peace and harmony.
 
Rohit Kumar Jha, Additional Superintendent of Police (City) informed that the flag-march was taken out for ensuring peaceful ambiance across the twin cities of Bhilai and Durg and in the district. The flag march was conducted by armed police that passed through all sensitive places. The police would continue to maintain strict vigil in days to come for ensuring peace and harmony. However, the celebration is not banned but people are voluntarily not indulging in any such activities.
 
ASP (City), Jha informed that about 450 police officials and personnel including the force of various police stations and police posts, have been deployed for maintaining peace and law and order. Apart from this several points were created for keeping close check over developments. About 12 gazetted rank police officials are directed for close supervision while Station House Officers (SHOs) are keeping check on all developments in their respective police stations’ limits.
 
The police have already made elaborate security arrangements to avert any eventuality, ASP, Jha said. He specifically appealed for not indulging in posting any provocative messages or any such acts, hurting the sentiments of people.
