Jabalpurians welcome Ayodhya verdict whole heartedly

Not a single agitation or protest was reported throughout the day 
 
Jabalpurians have whole heartedly welcomed the long awaited Ayodhya verdict. Amidst the high alert for security arrangements people from different communities applauded the Supreme Court’s verdict in Ayodhya case. It is a good sign for the authorities that the residents belongs to different communities exchanged greetings on Ayodhya verdict and not a single agitation or protest was reported throughout the day. On the other hand, District Administration and Police Department kept vigilant eye on every suspicious activity and elements to avoid any untoward incident and maintaining law and order arrangements in the district. Special worship programmes were organised at different temples and distributed sweets amongst community persons.
 
Right after receiving the news of scheduling Ayodhya verdict on Saturday 10:30 am, District Administration and Police Department remained on toes. District Magistrate and Collector, Bharat Yadav (IAS) and Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh (IPS) conducted inspection of law and order arrangements in sensitive areas and police taken out full fledged flag march in sensitive areas and main streets of the city in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. District Magistrate had imposed Section 144 on the eve of verdict to strengthen security arrangements while residents were urged to avoid spread of objectionable messages on social networking sites.
 
Collector and SP jointly conducted inspection throughout the day and directed the officers and police personnel to avoid any kind of suspicious activity in their respective areas. During the inspection, SP, Amit Singh seized the mobile handsets of five policemen who were found busy in scrolling their mobile handsets during their deployment for security in a highly sensitive area. During their inspection in sensitive areas, Collector and SP extended appeal towards residents through public announcement system to avoid spread of rumour and provocative information and assured them for maintaining law and order arrangements. Administrative officers were deployed as sector magistrates who accompanied by gazetted police officers conducted regular monitoring of situation in sensitive areas while separate police patrolling teams kept vigilant eye in their respective areas round the clock.
 
Police had already rounded-up the listed criminals and other notorious elements before the verdict as precautionary measure while activities of several other listed activists are being monitored to avoid any kind of provocation. Markets in sensitive areas were closed for safety measures while the State Government had declared holiday and all the government and private education institutions. City streets witnessed abandoned from 10:30 am to 11 am as residents were eagerly waiting for the Supreme Court’s verdict in Ayodhya case.
