Leaders, various groups, individuals in Nagpur have welcomed the Supreme Court (SC) verdict in Ayodhya case. All have called for peace and harmony. Supreme Court has delivered a very balanced judgment, is the reaction from all walks of the society. No organisation, or individual called the judgment as anybody’s victory or loss. All organisations, political parties, religious leaders have termed the verdict as end to Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. Shantakka, Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti; Sita Gayathri Annadanam, Pramukh Karyawahika: The judgment should not be seen as anybody’s victory or loss. In fact, it will be remembered for removing differences and creating atmosphere of bonding among the people.
 
“Now this dispute has resolved once and for all. We have full faith in Government that it would take appropriate steps in constructing Ram Mandir as per the decision of Supreme Court,” they said. Krupal Tumane, Ramtek MP: The dispute which was going on since 1950 has come to an end. The dream of late Balasaheb Thackeray, Shiv Sena Pramukh has been fulfilled. People of all religions should welcome the judgment. Vishwa Hindu Parishad: We welcome the judgment wholeheartedly. It was after prolonged struggle that finally verdict came. Those who struggled, jailed, experienced police caning got justice. Late Ashok Singhal, Ramchandradasji Maharaj, Mahant Avaidhnath Maharaj and others have participated in Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Andolan consistently.
 
Every person should remain silent and maintain harmony. Chandrashekhar Bawankule: The judgment will known as historic one forever. It has given justice to the faith of people and has maintained the required balance. No violent reaction after the verdict shows people of all caste and creed live happily in the country. Pravin Datke, President of Nagpur City BJP: “I welcome the judgment. We must honour the Supreme Court by remaining quiet. Don’t treat the verdict in terms of loss or victory”, he said Swami Jitendranath Maharaj, Shrinath Peethadhishwar: “I pay my respects to Ashok Singhal who spearheaded Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Andolan and the devotees of Shriram who have laid their lives for Ram Janmabhoomi. This is the power of crores of people of India especially Hindu and Muslim who have welcomed the judgment. I thank judiciary and Government”, he said.
 
Dr Rajiv Potdar, President of Nagpur District BJP: This judgment has further increased the faith of the people on judiciary. The judgment given by the five judges bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi is welcomed by people of all sectors. Nobody should see at the judgment as Hindu-Muslim dispute but should look as a balanced verdict. “We have decided not to celebrate it nor should be aggressive”, he said. Nanda Jichkar, Mayor: The judgment can be termed as the balanced verdict and has respected all religions. Nagpur city is known for maintaining harmony and peace.
 
“I welcome the judgment and appeal people to maintain peace”, she said. Girish Vyas, MLC: The good thing about the verdict is, it is welcomed by all walks of people. “I appeal people to maintain peace”, he said. Adv Firdous Mirza, senior Lawyer at High Court: Supreme Court being the final Arbitrator of the nation had performed its duty with utmost responsibility. “We welcome the verdict. This judgment will bring peace and tranquillity in India and will act as a safeguard for the future generations from the venomous acts of the people who wants to divide society on the religious lines. Supreme Court by holding that the disputed site was a mosque for the last 450 years was pleased to observe that the act of damaging the mosque and its destruction in the year 1934, 1949 and 1992 constituted a serious violation of rule of law. By observing this, the apex court had issued warning to all the hooligans who wanted to take law in their hands to intimidate members of other religions.
 
It is expected from the Central and State governments that they would act on this judgment in fair and just manner”, he said. Muslim Peace Forum: Members of Muslim Peace Forum has welcomed Ayodhya verdict given by the Supreme Court that put an end to case. This was stated by Ahmad Qadar, President of the forum, while addressing a press conference at Tilak Patrakar Bhavan here on Saturday. He has flayed the statement of Sunni Waqf Board Lawyer Zafarsab Jilani regarding review of the judgment and wanted promotion of brotherhood. Maulana Iftekhar Ahmad Sahab, Bablu Pathan, Sabir Khan, Maulana Hameed Sahab, Maulana Shamsuddin, Maulana Rajik Sahab, Maulana Adil Sahab and others were present at the press conference. Chandan Goswami, PRO BJP city unit: This judgment has reminded us of the Rathyatra taken out by Lalkrishna Advani. We dedicate the verdict to Advani. This judgment will be remembered by the generations.
 
Arun Joshi, Hindu Mahasabha: Now as Supreme Court has given its verdict, now Government take immediate steps towards constructing Ram temple. Hindumahasahba had filed petition on the issue. We attribute the credit to Gopalsingh Visharad, General Secretary of Hindu Mahasabha of Faizabad who took efforts. S Q Zama, General Secretary, MPCC: This is the revolutionary judgment which has paved the way to construct Ram Mandir. All the countrymen should welcome this constitutional verdict. There can be people who may not agree with the verdict but respect should be given to judiciary. I congratulate the five judges bench of Supreme Court and extend my wishes to the people of this country.
