Foundation Day celebrated with fanfare

State Finance Minister Tarun Bhanot graces the occasion, reads out CM’s message to people of State
The 64th Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh was celebrated with enthusiasm in the district, on Friday. Main Foundation Day programme was organised at Pt Ravi Shankar Shukla Stadium. State Finance Minister Tarun Bhanot unfurled the national flag and read out Chief Minister’s message to people of Madhya Pradesh. National anthem was also sung on the occasion.
 
Chief guest of the programme State Minister Bhanot administered oath of giving best for overall development of the State to one and all present on the occasion. During the main programme, school children presented folk dances and cultural programmes representing State’s culture, tradition and development. Special children of Girls Blind School also presented a theme song of Swachh Bharat.
  
 
Apart from that students of other schools also presented colourful cultural programme based on Madhya Pradesh’s diversity and its esteem. Children of Divisional Bal Bhawan presented song encouraging people for protection and conservation of birds, especially sparrow.
 
Likewise, students of St Thomas Girls School, Pt Lajja Shankar Jha School, L N Yadav School presented folk and other dances. Later, State Finance Minister Bhanot presented awards to school children. He also released a souvenir published by Food Department. It will be distributed from fair price shops.
 
During the programme, senior officials, employees, representatives of Village Panchayat and citizens were felicitated for excellent work in their respective fields. At the end of the programme, Kalapathak group of Social Justice Department sang national song Vande Mataram. Pradeep Dubey and Sangita Sthapak conduced proceedings of the programme. Those present on the occasion were Mayor Dr Swati Godbole, former Minister, Chandrakumar Bhanot, Dinesh Yadav, Jagat Bahadur Singh, Divisional Commissioner, Rajesh Bahuguna, Collector, Bharat Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh, Municipal Commissioner, Ashish Kumar, DFO Ravindramani Tripathi, senior officials, employees, students, teachers, public representatives and citizens.
