Chief Minister’s message to citizens on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day
Chief Minister Kamal Nath has called upon the people of the State to concentrate on making Madhya Pradesh a state of trust. The Chief Minister assured the citizens that Madhya Pradesh will be a changed state in the coming years, not only the country but the world also will be a witness to this change. Kamal Nath gave this message to the citizens at the Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day function held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Park in front of the Manatralaya on Friday.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government will establish a Global Skill Park in Bhopal to ensure that the youth of the State, develop skills of international standard and get a respectable employment. He said, ‘We have prepared a roadmap for development on which the Government will work with all sincerity and commitment for the next five years”.

The Chief Minister, while delivering the message to the citizens, mentioned a programme of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru held in Mandu of Dhar district after the creation of Madhya Pradesh 63 years ago. He mentioned that Pt Nehru had said that ‘There are opportunities for growth in Madhya Pradesh, I want the people of this State to move forward, but remember that we make progress by ourselves”. Learn new things by living together with love. Do your job well. It will benefit you, your neighbours, village, everybody and the country too. Kamal Nath said that Madhya Pradesh is poised to become a state according to the aspirations of Pt Nehru today.

Actual parameter to measure development is people’s happiness: The Chief Minister said that growth is not defined by GDP rate or other statistics. I believe that the right scale to measure development is happiness of the people. Along with the balanced utilisation of natural wealth, peace, profitable farming and better facilities of education and health, youth should get employment in Madhya Pradesh. There should be religious harmony, governance and administration should be people-oriented, people have faith in their own power, cities and villages with basic amenities should be developed uniformly. The Chief Minister further said ‘I am trying to develop Madhya Pradesh on these grounds. He said, ‘We lag behind if we do not move with time. We are making efforts to connect government and administration with new positive changes in order to make Madhya Pradesh move side by side with the country and world.

Roadmap ready for comprehensive development of State: Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that we have prepared a roadmap for the comprehensive development of the state. Our goal is to modernise farming and provide a fair price to the farmers for their produces, minimise farming dependence on monsoon, development of a proper system for irrigation, drinking water and electricity along with the construction of roads. He said that in the roadmap, we have also included all round development of all the deprived sections of the state, empowerment of women, establishment of rule of law and providing ample opportunities for progress to all sections of the society. By decentralising power we will hand over the opportunities of development of rural areas to the villagers themselves. At the same time, we will also give them the right to natural wealth. Stringent steps will be taken to make the state a leader in quality education: The Chief Minister said that we will take stringent steps, if we find it essential to make the state, a leading state in the country in terms of quality of education. He said that in today’s changing contexts, better co-ordination between education and knowledge is our priority. Along with the Mukhya Mantri Yuva Swabhiman Yojana, launched for youth to get employment, the government is going to make it mandatory to provide 70 per cent employment to the people of the state in the industrial units to be set up in the MP. Referring to the Magnificent Madhya Pradesh Summit held recently in Indore, the Chief Minister said that it has boosted investors’ trust in Madhya Pradesh.

It is our effort to establish large, medium, small, micro industries in the state, which will not only ensure industrial development of the state but will also address the problem of unemployment. People’s power is Government’s power: The Chief Minister said “I consider peoples’ power as power of the Government. Mandate should be respected, Government should live up to their trust. For this, we are working with our clear policies, programmes for the welfare of all the sections of the society and considering the problems as an opportunity. This feeling will only take Madhya Pradesh forward now.
