Rajyotsav-2019 celebrations extended by two more days

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday added two more days to the celebrations of Rajyotsav-2019 making it a five-day event in place of earlier announced three-days, to complement the wish of Governor Anusuiya Uikey. Rajyotsav-2019 was to be celebrated from November 1 to 3, but now it has been extended till November 5. Addressing the gathering on the second day of the Rajyotsav on Saturday, chief guest Governor Anusuiya Uikey said, “I am delighted to see the response of public at the various stalls here and I would like to compare it with Delhi Trade Fair.
 
I wish Chief Minister Baghel, considering public response, would extend the Rajyotsav for one more week.” Respecting the wish of the Governor, Baghel said, “The wish of Governor is an order for us and therefore I add two more days to the celebrations.” Earlier, Governor recalled the unforgettable contribution of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee towards the formation of Chhattisgarh, day after Chief Minister Baghel ignored Vajpayee during his inaugural address on the first day of Rajyotsav on November 1. Meanwhile, the Governor also remembered the great personalities of Chhattisgarh who fought for the separate state.
 
The Governor also contradicted Chief Minister Baghel that development of Chhattisgarh had come to a grinding halt in last 15 years and said that the state progressed in all sectors ever since it was made a separate state. The Governor hailed Chhattisgarh Government’s new Industry Policy 2019-24. Chief Minister Baghel has taken a good initiative for the development of backward areas of state. The new industry policy would prove to be a boon for the state, the Governor asserted.
 
In his presiding address, Chief Minister Baghel said the life of people has become easy under present government. Bastar and Surguja divisions, which has been confronting with numerous problems, have overcome those problems due to proactive and swift action by the present government, said Baghel. State Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat delivered the welcome address. Mismanagement rules the roost Mismanagement visible as crowd started rushing to the Rajyotsav venue on Saturday evening. The narrow road to the Pt Ravishankar Shukla University, which was being used for both entry and exit, caused a lot of hardship for the visitors who were seen shouting at the police and traffic personnel demanding a separate exit for them.
