Strongly refuting the charges leveled by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel during a press conference on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party remarked that it seems the Congress government has started dilly-dallying in fulfilling its promise, which it has made by taking Gangajal in hands. In a communique issued by BJP State Spokesperson Srichand Sundrani, said instead of carrying out agitation against the central government, the Congress party workers and office-bearers should agitate against its own government here as it is on the verge of taking U-turn on the promise of procuring paddy at Rs 2,500 per quintal MSP. Sundrani said the Congress which had promised to fulfill every promise it had made in its election manifesto but in the case of paddy procurement the state government’s political manoeuvres is creating doubts.

The party which came to power by promising to procure paddy at Rs 2,500 per quintal is now backtracking. Asserting that the Congress government will have to procure paddy at Rs 2,500 per quintal as per its promise, Sundrani said at first the Congress government postpones procurement drive and now it is talking about agitation in the national capital, which are all manoeuvres to mislead people, which is unfortunate and will be not allowed.

Sundrani further added that democracy runs by honoring public sentiments and opinions. He said while releasing its election manifesto, Congress leaders in the presence of the then AICC President Rahul Gandhi, had outlined as to how the Congress government, if elected to power, will generate funds to fulfill its promises. Now after getting entangled into loan waiver intrigues, Congress should desist from making big talks. Sundrani said the Chief Minister who’s unable to fulfill his responsibilities in the state is making statements on global economy and slow-down. He added neither running government through babbling is possible nor any good would happen by maligning the image of former Chief Minister.
