Inter-state gang of ATM thieves busted, 3 held

Parwalia police nabbed three members of inter-state gang involved in targeting, breaking ATM kiosks and stealing cash from it gang has targeted SBI ATM in the month of July this year. Reward of Rs 5,000 was declared for providing whereabouts of the miscreants. Police said that during investigation miscreants were tacked and nabbed from Haryana and Rajasthan.
 
Arrested accused were identified as Mohammad Shaqib (20), Waseem Khan (20), both natives of Haryana and Tahir (24) of Bharatpur district in Rajasthan. After police received information of breaking of SBI ATM by trying to open cash chest of ATM at Parwalia, a police team visited the spot. Based on the complaint made by bank officials and after preliminary investigation the police registered a case under sections 379, 511, 336 and 34 of the IPC and have started further investigations. Gang members confessed that they have targeted ATM in Indore and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh in the past and have targeted SBI’s ATM kiosk in Bhopal on July 2.
 
They revealed that kingpin of the gang is Padam of Haryana. Based on revelations police have started to search for the mastermind of the gang. Miscreants revealed that villagers of their village are involved in ATM breaking which has raised suspicion that more miscreants might be roaming in the State and targeting ATM which will be investigated. Arrested members of the gang were produced in the court on Saturday and were sent to two-day police custody. CCTV footage of other ATM breaks of Bhopal and other parts of the State areas will be checked. Police have started to investigate the crime record of the nabbed accused.
