Ministers Dr Chowdhary and Patwari inaugurate 65th National School Games

The Minister for School Education Dr Prabhuram Chowdhary and Minister for Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Jeetu Patwari inaugurated the 4-day 65th National School Hupkwondo and Rifle Shooting Competition at TT Nagar Stadium on Monday. As many as 1,141 players of 19 States and 6 units are participating in the competition being organised under the aegis of School Games Federation of India (SGFI). The Rifle Open Sight and Pistol competitions will be held at Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy-Goregaon, Bhopal, whereas the Hupkwondo competition will be held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School-Barkhedi, Jehangirabad, Bhopal. Minister Dr Prabhuram Chowdhary said that sports are utmost important for a healthy life. Participation in competition is more important than defeat and victory. He said that sports are important for overall development and teach us to face challenges of life. Dr Chaudhary said parents are required to encourage children towards the sports.
 
Through sports, children can bring glory to the country, State, region and family. Nowadays, children are adopting sports as a career. He further mentioned that sports and yoga teachers are also being recruited in schools so that sports and yoga could be taught to children along with the education. The Minister for Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Jeetu Patwari said that a player always handle the problems of life with ease as sports only teach an individual to tackle challenges.
 
Player develops his/her body and mind after going through hard practice and brings laurels to the country and state. Patwari further stated that a decision has been taken to prepare a school sports nursery in Madhya Pradesh. He informed that the National Games will be organised in Madhya Pradesh and preparations are being made in this regard.
 
The Commissioner Public Instruction Jai Kiyawat said that school children from all over the country have come to participate in the competition. All these children are jewels of their states. She told the player students to play with a sportsman spirit and full concentration in the competition to achieve success. Moving forward without getting disappointed because of the failure is sportsmanship spirit. Minister Duo hoisted the SGFI’s flag and inaugurated the competition. On this occasion, the participating players were sworn to play with the spirit of the games as per the rules.
