Ayodhya case verdict: Collector asks officials to ensure strict vigil to maintain law and order

COLLECTOR Bharat Yadav has instructed all the Executive Magistrates and police officials in the district to maintain strict vigil on events, activities in the areas of their jurisdiction in view of forthcoming verdict of Apex Court on Ram Mandir case in order to maintain law and order. He was addressing a joint meeting of administrative officials and police officials at the Collectorate conference hall on Tuesday. The Collector asked the officials to maintain communication, co-ordination with each other and also remain in contact with local people and also collect feedback. On the basis of feedback they should decide and take action according to the situation to maintain law and order in the city. Strict action should be taken against elements causing disturbance or spreading any rumor.
 
The Collector instructed to monitor social media and register case against those involved in propagating any restricted message or communication on social sites or mobile applications under IT Act. People staying in hotels, lodges, dharmshalas and hostels in the city and ordered to ensure implementation of restriction orders and to bound over anti-social elements. He asked to expedite informers’ network in sensitive areas, temples and other religious structure. Keeping in view sensitivity of the verdict on Ayodhya case permission of rally, procession, public meeting, dharna and demonstration should be given cautiously. Other than traditional event no new event should be allowed. After November 10, open sale of fireworks should be restricted completely.
 
Superintendent of Police Amit Singh (IPS) emphasised on expediting monitoring in sensitive areas, religious areas and police officials should remain in contact with public. Prohibition on anti-social elements and people having criminal records asked to take strict action against people spreading any kind of rumors. Instructing police officials to maintain co-ordination with administration officials and to conduct joint visit. He said that video recording and CCTV cameras should also be monitored. He also instructed officials to ensure deployment of sufficient force with Executive Magistrates and to ensure proper arrangements in managing any kind of group clash or any unrest like availability of force, vehicles, riot control vehicles etc. He said to cope with any kind of law and order situation the officials should chalk out strategy of their respective areas.
 
Accordingly, discussion on action to be taken in different situations should also be decided. He asked SDMs to ensure that petrol should not be sold from petrol pumps in bottles. SP Singh said that sufficient police force is available to control any situation. He also instructed to barricade and stoppers at all sensitive areas. He said officials should ensure that after verdict no one could organise events that could hurt religious or social sentiments of any one. Station Level Peace Committee meetings should be organised in all police stations. Violators of prohibition or ban should be punished. He also instructed to monitor movement of incoming and outgoing traffic from city. In the meeting, Additional Collector Harsh Dixit, Additional Collector Sandeep G R, Additional SP Sanjeev Uikey and others were present.
