All districts of the country need good medical colleges: Gadkari

Inaugurating the three-day conference ‘AMASICON 2019’ being organised here, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said that there is need to set up good medical colleges in all districts of the country that could match the facilities available in metro cities. Padmashree Dr Prakash Amte, Organising Secretary Dr Prashant Rahate, Organising Chairman Dr Dilip Gode; Patron & Founder President Dr C Palanivelu and others were ;present on the occasion.
 
Highlighting the contribution of private sector in health care sector in the country, Gadkari further said that private institutions have been allowed to set medical colleges and hospitals which will eventually increase the number doctors. “Indian doctors have special recognition at international level,” he added. Gadkari further appreciated the social work done by Dr Prakash Amte and his family member in remote places of Gadchiroli district.
 
“Dr Prakash Amte is taking forward the work started by Dr Baba Amte,” he said. On the occasion, fellowship of Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India was given to Dr Prakash Amte at the hands of Gadkari. Expressing his views, Dr C Palanivelu said medical surgery in India is quite old. Live workshops in all the subspecialties including Minimal Access surgery for Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Bariatric sugary, HPB, colorectal, solid organ and of course Robotic surgery are being held in the conference.
