Over 5,135 patients avail benefits of Rahat-2 on first day

OVER 5,135 patients participated on the first day of eight-day Rahat-2, Rotary health camp. The health camp was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp at Mandla-based Mahatma Gandhi ground on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by Assembly Speaker N P Prajapati, Incharge Minister Tarun Bhanot, Member of Parliament Vivek Tankha, MLA Bichiya, Narayan Patta, MLA, Niwas, Dr Ashok Marskole, Divisional Commissioner, Rajesh Bahuguna, Municipal President, Poornima Shukla, Vice-President, Girish Chandnani, Collector, Dr Jagdish Chandra Jatia, Superintendent of Police, RRS Parihar, Chief Executive Officer, Jila Panchayat, Tanvi Hudda, social worker, Sanjay Singh Parihar, former International Rotary president, Raja Sabu, International President 2020-21, Shekhar Mehta, senior officers, doctors, administrative officers and rotary members. After proper check-up, patients were shifted to different hospitals for operation.
 
As per official data, 13 gynaec operations were performed at Katra Hospital. Similarly, 9 orthopaedic and 3 plastic surgeries were held at Yogiraj Hospital, 79 operations including 23 general, 3 dental and 53 ophthalmic surgeries were performed at District Hospital, respectively. After formal inauguration of camp, invited dignitaries monitored process of registration, treatment facilities and medicine distribution process in the camp.
 
Speaker N P Prajapati, Incharge Minister Bhanot and Member of Parliament Vivek Tankha interacted with the patients and enquired their health status. Bhanot interacted with doctors and paramedical staff in different counters and discussed about diagnosis process, surgery and other facilities. MP Tankha with Rotary International Chairman Shekhar Mehta and other senior administrative officers visited all the three hospitals and took account of health facilities. They discussed in detail about OT and other required machines and equipment. Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Bahuguna and Collector Dr Jatia have maintained tight vigil on different arrangements made by the administration. They conducted surprise inspections at different venues and took account of treatment and other activities.
