CM reiterate commitment of Rs 2,500 MSP for paddy at Samari

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reiterated Chhattisgarh Government’s commitment of giving Rs 2,500 per quintal as Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy to the farmers, no matter the financial conditions.
Dr Baghel appealed for the support of citizens and farmers to this end during his address at village Shrikot of Samari Vidhan Sabha constituency of Balrampur-Ramanujganj District on Friday.
Baghel further stated it’s no crime to give farmers fair price for their crops and to purchase the paddy for Rs 2,500 per quintal. He also dedicated and inaugurated several development projects to the tune of Rs 59 crore in the area.
On the demand of Samari MLA Chintamani Maharaj, Chief Minister Baghel announced giving Chando the status of Tehsil and to include other demands into the budget.
Chief Minister Baghel also remembered Gahira Guruji, saying that he raised awareness in the society and gave
community a new direction.
Chief Minister also restated government’s other promises such as loan waiver, halving the electricity bill and 35 kilogram rice to every family. He also claimed the Chhattisgarh is unaffected by the recession.
Bullion market saw 84 per cent growth, automobile sector 13 percent and other business sectors have seen a rise. He also mentioned about the Suraji Gaon Yojana and stated more than 2,000 gothan have been made for the improvement of livestock.
They are going to build 1028 check-dams to preserve the rain water and enhance the groundwater level. He also requested farmers to donate the hay to gothans instead of burning so as to arrange fodder. He also distributed grant and other materials to the beneficiaries. Programme was also addressed by Panchayat and Rural Development Minister T S Singhdeo, and School Education Minister Umesh Patel, who showered plaudits on Saint Gahira Guruji for bringing education to a backward area.
In his welcome speech, local MLA Chintamani Maharaj put forth several demands such as Girls’ College and Session’s Court at Kusmi, renovation of Kusmi Stadium, cent per cent grant to the Sanskrit Higher Secondary School and college at Shrikot and construction of corridor, giving Chando Tehsil status, girls’ hostel at Samari, ITI and Gramin Bank Branch, Link Court of Collector Court at Shankargarh and constructions of roads and bridges.
Other eminent guests at the programme were Surguja Development Authority Chairman Khel Sai Singh, former MLA Maheshwar Paikra, Ashok, Harish Mishra, Abdullah Khan, Satyanarayan Singh,
T P Gupta, Bahadur and other public representatives.
