People spend on home and furniture to the best of their capacity, said Dhiraj Bothra, Director of Lifestyle Furniture and Interior Mall while talking to The Hitavada on Monday. “Craze for furniture will always remain like gold, car and other luxury items. Furniture demand can be postponed but not cancelled,” Bothra said. He said that a person’s financial resources usually gets exhausted while constructing a house. However, he starts buying furniture after some period according to his financial capacity.
“Every customer wants the best, if his budget is exhausted on one item, he will purchase another item as per his financial capacity. Bothra said, “The demand for traditional furniture is declining which is being replaced by designer furniture. The awareness about the designer furniture is increasing day by day.” “Looking at the increasing demand of designer furniture with various colour combinations, we are the first to start modular furniture factory in Vidarbha,” he said. When asked about the challenge from on-line companies and Chinese products, he replied “On-line suppliers and Chinese products had disturbed us and other furniture manufacturers in the beginning. But with the passage of time, people have realised that there is no after sales service. Now, people have returned to furniture showrooms.
The people who have purchased a single item from our showroom are now our permanent customers.” Another major reason, Bothra cited that for people rejecting on-line products that they had not received the item which they have seen on companies sites. “As per the demand of the people who had purchased on-line furniture, we have deployed special technicians to provide them our services. Those who have purchase on-line furnitures, now they have become our customers.
They are not placing on-line orders. People in America purchase on-line products according to quality of the product, while in India people go for cheaper price and are befouled most of the time.” “Chinese companies cannot give long time service. If we shift Chinese furniture from one place to another, it is a very cumbersome task,” he said. . While in case of our furniture, it can be easily shifted from one place to another without any problem.”
