SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant has been at the forefront of the drive to achieve energy efficiency over the years.

In recognition of its holistic as well as significant contribution toward energy efficiency, Bhilai Steel Plant has been conferred two major awards by CII for its consistent efforts for energy efficiency in 2019.

Recently, BSP was conferred an award by CII, Chhattisgarh State Council for ‘Outstanding contribution in Energy Efficiency’ in the CII Energy Efficiency Conclave & Exposition 2019 held in Raipur.

 

The award was presented to BSP by Narendra Goel, Chairman, CII, Chhattisgarh State Council and was received by Bonya Mukherjee, General Manager (EMD), Ayan Mishra, General Manager (CEO’s Sect.) and A K Singh, Deputy

General Manager (CEO’s Sect.) on behalf of BSP.

 

In August 2019 at the 10th CII Energy Conservation (ENCON) Awards ceremony held at Kolkata, Bhilai Steel Plant was conferred a Certificate of Recognition in the category of Large Scale Industries with 4.5 stars rating out of 5 for its systematic, commendable and serious attempts for efficient utilisation and efforts towards significant improvement in conservation of Energy.

 

Pushpa Ambrose, General Manager (EMD) and S Lakshmi, General Manager (Energy Cell) had participated in the

competition on behalf of Bhilai Steel Plant. Tripti Verma, JO (EMD) and Tejaswini Dewangan, Chargeman-cum-Master Technician (EMD) had contributed significantly in preparing the application document for this award.

 

The CII Award and Certificate of Recognition were formally handed over by Energy Management Department to Executive Director (Works), P K Dash recently in presence of BP Singh, Executive Director (Operations), SN Abidi, Chief General Manager I/c (Services), PK Sarkar, Chief General Manager (Elect), V K Shrivastav, Chief General Manager (EMD) and P K Singh, General Manager (EMD).
