Adulteration affecting health of future citizens: ‘Shooter Dadi’

“GENDER disparity is the biggest setback in the society. Growth of women in all sectors is the key to eradicate social evil and ensure overall development of the nation. Increasing trend of adulteration is the most hazardous practice which is adversely affecting health of future citizens. There is need of public awareness to stop food adulteration and providing a better future to youngsters,” said Prakashi Tomar, fondly known as ‘Shooter Dadi’.
Shooter Dadi was talking to the mediapersons during her visit in the city to attend Mini Marathon to be organised for public awareness towards cleanliness and food adulteration. She is known as Shooter Dadi throughout the world as oldest shooter and has won medals for the country in several international competitions.
Talking to the media, Prakashi Tomar informed that she started shooting in the age of 60 years and won medals in several national and international competitions. She informed that even after facing several social challenges and absence of resources, she started shooting practice by lifting jug filled with water to improve balancing her hand. Her daughters Seema Tomar and Ruby Tomar are also international level shooters.
Seema has won medals in World Shooting Competition and also created a record in Asian Shooting Competition and is currently posted in the Indian Army, while her younger sister is an Inspector in Punjab Police. Shooter Dadi’s elder daughter Seema Tomar informed that most of the women members in her family started shooting and won medals in several national and international competitions. She encouraged girls to keep aside all the social barriers and make their dreams come true for desired success. She also appealed to the residents to provide an opportunity to girls for a better future.
