Incidents of violence decline in C’garh after Cong came to power: Rahul Gandhi

Lauding the works of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel led Congress government, Wayanad Lok Sabha Member Rahul Gandhi said that incidents of violence have declined in Chhattisgarh after Congress government came to power in the state indicating that the voices of people from all classes are being heard in the Congress government. He was addressing the inaugural function of the National Tribal Dance Festival at Science College Ground here on Friday.
Rahul Gandhi said that Chhattisgarh government is carrying out development works by involving people from all sections of the society.
There are lots of problems and issues before tribals in the country. In such circumstances, it is necessary that the voices of tribal should be heard and resolved.
Criticising the development model of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, Rahul Gandhi said that this government is trying to create a demarcation among the people in the name of caste, creed and religion in the country. Demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST) have been implemented forcefully in the country and because of it, the economy of the country is badly affected and thousands of people lost their jobs due to it, he added.
Without involving the people from all classes including tribal, the poor and farmers in development works, the economy of the country cannot grow, said the former Congress National President.
The people from all classes should be involved in development works that will pave the way for development. Congress government in Chhattisgarh is leading the state on rapid path of development. The economy of Chhattisgarh is rapidly growing in comparison to other states, pointed Rahul Gandhi.
Gandhi praising the efforts of the state government to organise the Tribal Dance Festival said that he was eager to attend the programme. The Congress leader said that unity in diversity was be seen in the National Tribal Dance Festival where artists from various parts of the country is performing. Rahul Gandhi along with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and State Congress President Mohan Markam danced to the beat of traditional instrument ‘mandar’ wearing traditional headgear “Gaur Sinh” along with the tribals. Gandhi said the state government has started various schemes for betterment of tribal community.
He said that violence in the state has subsided because the government is listening to the voice of people. Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat proposed the vote of thanks. Rahul Gandhi also released the calendar of Chhattisgarh government.
Earlier, Chief Minister Baghel welcomed Rahul Gandhi by adorning him with traditional headgear and garland of herbs. United Nations resident coordinator Renata Lok-Dessallien, former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant, Chhattisgarh Congress In-charge P L Punia, AICC Secretary for Chhattisgarh Dr Chandan Yadav, Rajya Sabha Member B K Hariprasad, former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria, former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das, Cabinet Ministers T S Singhdeo, Tamradhwaj Sahu, Ravindra Choubey, Kawasi Lakhma, Umesh Patel, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Guru Rudra Kumar, Mohammad Akbar, Anila Bhedia, Jaisingh Agrawal, Chief Secretary R P Mandal, Director General of Police D M Awasthi, Secretary of Culture Department Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Congress State President Mohan Markam and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. A march past was taken out by the participants on the occasion.
