Rich tributes paid to Dad

Rich tributes were paid to Karmaveer Padmashri Dadasaheb Gaikwad on his death anniversary. President of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti Bhadant Arya Nagarjun Shurei Sasai paid floral tributes at Gaikwad’s statue at Deekshabhoomi. Vilas Gajghate spoke about Gaikwad’s life and work. He was a close associate of Dr Ambedkar. He actively participated in entry of Dalits into Kala Ram Mandir, Mahad Movement, led agitation of landless, etc.
 
He also handled responsibility of the Repblican Party of India. Besides Sasai, Ramabhau Ambulkar, Haridas Tembhurne, N R Sute, Dr Sudhir Fulzele, Pradip Dongre, Milind Ganar, Bhushan Mun, Prakash Kumbhe, Prof Rahul Moon, Arun Sakharkar, Balu Gharde also paid tributes. D M Belekar, Damodhar Suryavanshi, Tarachand Patil, Purushottam Gaikwad, baban Kamble, Dr Sevak Gajbhiye, Rajkumar Meshram, Wasudev Thul and others were present. Vilas Gajghate made introductory remarks and also conducted the proceedings. Kailash Warke proposed a vote of thanks. RPI(K): Karmaveer Dadasaheb Gaikwad was an example of how a leader should be.
 
He was honoured with Padmashri awarded at the hands of the then President Dr Zakir Hussain in 1968. Repuublican Party of India (Khobragade) Regional Unit President Asangh Ramteke recalled Gaikwad’s contribution to pay truibutes to him. Party National Vice-President Suresh Khaparde, N ranga Guruji, Akash Deshbhratar, Ramesh Rangari, Sanjay Adkine, Ashok Biwgade, Manik Bamborde, Dilip sawai and a large number of party workers were present.
