Forest Department trackers have lost track of the tiger spotted at Mangatta. The tiger was last reported to have entered in Balod and could head further down south to Kanker, which is infamous for poaching. Appealing the Forest Department to intensify the search and rescue operation, Nova Nature Society member Moiz Khan has expressed serious concerns on the disappearance of tiger in Balod region as the area all the way down up to Kanker is notorious for the poaching activities.
 
Although, tiger, so far, has avoid coming anywhere near the humans, but any accidental encounter with a human could prove fatal. Even if tiger kills cattle, it may spark anger among villagers. Wildlife Conservationist Nitin Singhvi informed that the threat of poachers is quite real as in last few years there had been multiple recovery leopard and tiger body organs in the region.
 
A leopard hide, bones, teeth and whisker strands was seized from Pendri Transport area in Rajnandgaon on January 31, 2018, another leopard hide was seized from a nearby region Ambagarh Chowki on February 6, 2018, one leopard hide seized at village Tultuli of Kanker on March 10, 2018, two leopard hides at Dudhawa bus stand at Kanker on March 10, 2018, tiger hide at Kulhadghat of Kanker on April 21, 2016, and another tiger hide at Manpuri of South Kondgaon, Kanker Forest Division to name but a few. Altogether, 20 tiger hides have been recovered in Chhattisgarh in past 10 years.
