The CGST and Central Excise, Nagpur conducted an outreach and awareness programme “Stakeholders Feedback Diwas” here on Saturday at GST Bhawan on Telangkhedi Road. The programme was organised for creating awareness for the proposed new GST returns and gathering feedback on the same from trade fraternity. The programme was attended by various trade associations including Vidarbha Industrial Association (VIA), MIDC Hingna Industrial Association (MIA), Butibori Manufacturer’s Association (BMA), Nagpur Chamber of Commerce Limited (NCCL) and Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC). The programme was also attended by the office-bearers and members of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI). P K Agrawal, Principal Commissioner, welcomed the members of trade community and informed them regarding the new system of GST returns, that will commence from April 2020. A detailed presentation was also given on the subject.
 
A demo run was also shown to the attendees, to show how to use the various offline tools that have been made available in the new system. He further urged the stakeholders to try using these new returns and give feedback on the same, so that the department can make necessary changes to the system. During the interactive session the trade fraternity raised various issues related to the proposed new GST returns and also made various suggestions to improve the system. Principal Commissioner told them that the issues raised by them will be forwarded to the Ministry immediately and assured that all the positive suggestions will be incorporated.
