RCOEM’s two-day ICACER-2019 conference concludes

INTERNATIONAL conference on ‘Advances and challenges in energy research (ICACER-2019) organised by Department of Mechanical Engineering of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), Nagpur was inaugurated on March 15 at Chitnavis Centre. The second and concluding day of the international conference started with plenary session on ‘Nano and other low cost materials for cleaner energy and environmental applications’ by Dr N K Labhsetwar, Chief Scientist and Head, EMRD CSIR-NEERI. It was followed by poster presentation competition in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, which was inaugurated at the hands of Dr V S Deshpande, Professor Industrial Engineering Department. The technical paper presentations were conducted in parallel sessions. For remotely located authors, the presentations were arranged through Skype.
 
Seema Topno, Dr Pravin Sawarkar, Dr Abhay Khaltatkar, Dr Prasad Kane, Dr Sushant Satputaley and Dr Satish Bhele worked as session Chair during the presentations. The two-day technical extravaganza concluded with valedictory function on Saturday in the college. The function began with welcome of chief guest Vishal Agrawal, Director of RC Plasto Tanks and Pipes Pvt Ltd and guest of honour Divyam Singhania, Director of Manmohan Minerals and Chemicals Pvt Ltd. Dr S D Mohgoankar, Dean Second Shift of RCOEM presided over the function. Dr K N Agrawal, Convener and Dr M M Gupta, Co-convener were prominently present. On the occasion, Vishal Agrawal shared the success mantra for the organisation as focus on growth rather than profits and optimisation of resources. He also stressed that the engineers should work on process improvement for achieving energy conservation.
 
Divyam Singhania stressed that engineering education develops a fit mind and engineers need not restrict themselves to their specific discipline but can choose and excel in other careers too. In his address, Dr S D Mohgoankar shared tips for writing a good quality research paper and urged the students to do the literature survey, read the literature, understand it and apply it effectively in their project work. He congratulated Mechanical Engineering Deptt for successful organisation of the conference. Dr V V Shukla, Organising Chair of ICACER-2019 presented the summary of various sessions, events and presentations conducted at the conference.
