Nagpur will emerge as export hub: Borikar

Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) and ECGC Limited, a Government of India Enterprise organised a seminar on ‘Risk management in export transactions’ at the Chamber premises. The primary objective of the seminar was to create awareness regarding the various products, their scope, procedural aspects of ECGC and information on export credit risk and other trade related activities to the esteemed exporters of Vidarbha. The programme discussed the various commercial and political risks involved in exports executed on short-term credits. Rejesh Desurkar, Branch Manager of ECGC Ltd and Rajesh Borikar, AD, DGFT and Nitin Vaidya, Assistant Manager of ECGC Ltd were speakers. Speaking on the occasion, Hemant Gandhi, President of NVCC said, “NVCC is committed to help the traders in the region to boost exports. We always help traders in and the adjoining states in the Exim business.”
 
In his speech, Borikar said, “In the coming days, Nagpur will emerge as export hub.” He called upon the members of NVCC to avail the schemes launched by the Central Government to increase exports. He explained in detail about IEC registration, MIES, advance licences etc. Desurkar and Vaidya also expressed their views. They said, every trader want to increase business. But every business stands on the foundation of risk.
 
 
When a trader want to export his products, he has to face risk like political, commerce, foreign exchange etc. Whenever, there are any upheaval on international level, the risk factor for exporters also increases. ECGC has been set up by Govt to help exporters in taking international risk. Borikar was felicitated by Hemant Gandhi and Desurkar was welcomed by Sachin Puniyani, Treasurer. They also replied the answers of the traders in the meeting. Sanjay Agrawal, Secretary conducted the proceedings and proposed the vote of thanks. Prominently present were Arjundas Ahuja, Vice-President of NVCC, Farooque Akbani, Ramavatar Totla, joint secretaries, Shabbir Shakir, Public Relation Officer and others.
