Alert cops foil robbery attempt, arrest 4 men

IN A major breakthrough, police foiled a robbery attempt and apprehended four miscreants with adverse crime record and seized three country made pistols, 2 dessi kattas and five live ammunition on Thursday. One of the miscreants managed to flee from the spot against whom a massive hunt has been started. Success for police is an outcome of joint efforts of Belbag police and Crime Branch. The team received a tip-off that a group of armed miscreants were sitting near Kanjad Mohalla Pani Tanki on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday. The miscreants were heard discussing to target Beoharbag petrol pump. Superintendent of Police Nimish Agrawal has issued instructions to staffers to take stringent action against miscreants involved in sale and supply of sedatives and firearms.
On Thursday, an informer informed Belbag police about armed miscreants sitting near Kanjad Mohalla Pani Tanki and they were heard discussing to target Beoharbag petrol pump. Acting on the tip-off, SI Belbag Dharmendra Dhurvey and Crime Branch apprised senior officers about the information. A joint team of Crime Branch and Belbag police was constituted and they reached the said location in Kanjad Mohalla late in the night. Cops found five miscreants sitting near Kanjad Mohalla Pani Ki Tanki. Cops circumscribed the spot, taking advantage of the darkness a miscreant managed to flee from the spot, while four were apprehended. The miscreants have been identified as Deepak Omprakash Rajak (20), a resident from Lalmati, Piyush Ravikesh Kothari, (21) a resident from Tooth line GCF quarters Satpula, Mradul alias Chotu Ramesh Arkhel (24) a resident from Chota Sai Mandir Belbag and Abhishek Ramkishan Hatey (28), a resident from Belbag. All of them were brought to police station. One miscreant who managed to escape has been named as Rahul alias Daddu Vanshkar, a resident from Basore Mohalla Belbag. The spot where the miscreants were apprehended police have recovered three country made pistols, 2 dessi kattas and five live ammunition.
All four accused have adverse crime record at Adhartal, Ghamapur, Barela, Hanumantal, Bargi against cases of loot, abduction and murder. Cases against the miscreants are pending in court. The joint police team comprised SI Belbag Dharmednra Dhurvey, along with Dhananjay Singh, Vijay Shukla, Pramod Pandey Anand Tiwari Rahul Sengar from Crime Branch, while from Belbag police station were ASI K N Rai along with Mahendra Shukla, Manoj Mishra and others. SP Nimish Agrawal has announced cash reward for the police team.
