Bandhavgarh Forest SDO in Lokayukta net, assets worth Rs 2.5 cr unearthed

SLEUTHS of Lokayukta Special Establishment Rewa raided residences of Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of Forest Department in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and unearthed disproportionate property worth Rs 2.5 crore in Satna and Umaria, on Friday. Raids were simultaneously conducted at residences of S K Shrivastava posted as SDO of Forest Department in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.
 
 
 
Superintendent of Police Rajendra Verma, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that they received information about disproportionate assets with S K Shrivastava, SDO Forest Department.
 
Acting on the tip-off, Lokayukta police teams led by Inspector Arvind Tiwari and Inspector Hitendra Sharma started a secret inquiry against the suspected officer and found the information correct. Taking prompt action on the information, two teams of Lokayukta police raided the residences of Shrivastava in Umaria and Rajendra Nagar in Satna. SP Verma informed that in the raids, Lokayukta police found disproportionate property and several movable and immovable assets worth Rs 2.5 crore with the SDO in Umaria and Satna districts.
 
In the raid, Lokayukta police have found fixed deposits and cash in bank accounts of Rs 1 crore, deposit of Rs 10.65 lakh in post office, three four-wheelers, jewellery of Rs 17 lakh, jewellery worth Rs 17 lakh in bank locker in Satna and jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh to Rs 17 lakh in bank locker in Umaria.
 
Besides, teams also found documents of several undeclared properties and other assets. Lokayukta police personnel continued scrutiny of documents to unearth more undeclared assets till the last report came in.
