In a sensational incident, three unidentified persons opened fire on driver of Agrawal Jewellers and fled in Kotwali area on Saturday night. Victim was immediately rushed to a private hospital where doctors were trying to save his life. Heavy police force has been deployed in area. Police are searching for the accused and till the filing of this report, no accused was arrested. A senior police officer told ‘The Hitavada’ that three unidentified persons opened fire on Agrawal Jewellers’ driver Rehman. Accused fled the spot along with tiffin of victim. It is being said that three bullets were fired in the incident.

 

The incident, committed with the motive of loot, spread sensation in the area. All senior police officers rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Police sources told that firing incident victim Rehman was admitted to Chirayu Hospital where attending doctors took him into operation theatre. “We are searching for accused and trying to know about their identities. So far they could not be arrested”, said Kotwali police. The incident occurred at Marwadi road area. A case has been registered against accused at Kotwali Police Station. Notably, incident happened at the time when police is carrying out intensive checking in the run up to Lok Sabha elections.
