Cops bust illegal kilns producing country liquor

Belbagh police conducted consecutive raids at three houses in Khatik Mohalla and seized 5,000-litres Lahan, 19-litres country-made liquor, 10 drums, 7 LPG cylinders, 5 stoves, 3 motor pumps from the spot in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Police have arrested two of the four accused and started a rigorous search for other accused. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Nimish Agrawal (IPS), a police team, under the supervision of Additional SP (City), Rajesh Tripathi and CSP, Omti, Shashikant Shukla, raided three houses in Khatik Mohalla and busted illegal kilns producing country-made liquor. SHO of Belbagh police station, Samarjeet Singh Parihar informed that, acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the house of Ankit Sonkar situated in Khatik Mohalla. Police team nabbed the accused Ankit Sonkar (24) and seized 7 drums filled with 2,000-litres Lahan used for producing country-made liquor and 8-litres country-made liquor.
 
Besides this, police have also seized illegal stock of fire-crackers amounting to Rs 30,000 without any license. Belbagh police have registered a case under sections 34(1) and 49(A) of Excise Act, sections 3 and 7 of Essential Commodity Act, Section 285 of IPC and Section 5/9(B) (1)(B) of Explosive Act – 1884. Similarly, acting on information, police team raided the residence of Tarachand Sonkar in Khatik Mohalla. In the raid, police team arrested Manish Sonkar (30), son of Tarachand Sonkar and seized 5-litres country-made liquor and 2,000-litres Lahan and other equipment. Belbagh police have registered a case under Section 34(1) and 49(A) of Excise Act, sections 3, 7 of Essential Commodity Act and 285 of IPC and started a search for other accused named Tarachand Sonkar, Sandeep Sonkar and Shambhu Sonkar. In another raid, police team seized 6-litres country-made liquor and other materials at residence of Rahul Sonkar in Khatik Mohalla.
 
 
The accused managed to escape from backdoor of the house. Belbagh police have registered a case under Section 34(1) and 49(A) of Excise Act, sections 3, 7 of Essential Commodity Act and Section 285 of IPC and started a search for the accused Rahul Sonkar. Illegal kilns were busted with active working of police team led by SHO of Belbagh police station, Samarjeet Singh Parihar and comprising DSP (Probationary), Tushar Singh, SI, S N Kushwaha, PSI, Prabhat Katare, Head Constables, Ramakant Pandey, Mahendra Shukla, Constables, Pradeep Rajak, Amirchand Yadav, Shivshankar Dwivedi, Shafeek Khan, Manish Dubey, Manoj Mishra, Sugreev Tiwari and Mukul Gautam.
