Heat wave in Central India, Bhopal sizzles at 40.8 degrees Celsius, highest of season

Madhya Pradesh continues to be in a grip of hot winds with mercury soaring around 41 degree Celsius, highest of the season so far while at other places in state, mercury has already crossed the 40 degrees Celsius mark. Saturday troubled the denizens with heat waves and highest temperature of the season. Highest temperature was recorded as 45 degrees Celsius at Khargone while minimum temperature recorded as 15 degrees Celsius in Mandla. Meteorology Department informed that maximum temperature of Bhopal on Saturday recorded was 40.8 degree Celsius, minimum of 23 degree Celsius and wind westerly 10 knots. Khajuraho recorded 43 degrees Celsius and Nowgaon 42 degrees Celsius, informed Met office in Bhopal. As per Met office Indore recorded maximum and minimum temperature as 40.2 and 21.4 degrees Celsius, Jabalpur as 40.9 and 21.5 degrees Celsius, Gwalior 40.9 and 20.0 degrees Celsius and Damoh 43 degrees Celsius.
 
According to Weather Department other parts of State too recorded temperature above 40 degrees Celsius which troubled the people. Highest temperature as 42 degrees Celsius was recorded in Guna, Shajapur, Hoshangabad, Betul, Khandwa, Nowgaon. Maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius was recorded in Rajgarh, Ratlam, Dhar, Sagar and Umaria Districts. Heat stroke continued in Khajuraho, Nawgaone, Sagar, Damoh, Betul, Dhar, Khandwa, Khargone, Ratlam, Shajapur, Ujjain, Guna and Gwalior divisions. The Met office has predicted that light showers, drizzling with lightning and wind in a few regions including Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Raisen and Vidisha.
 
Besides, heat strokes are predicted for Sagar, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Hoshangabad and Bhopal regions. The department has predicted maximum temperature for March 31 as 41 degrees Celsius and minim as 23 degrees Celsius in Bhopal. In the forecast for the State, the meteorological officials said that dry weather would prevail over state and there will be no major change in existing conditions.
